Library

The heart of the Institute supporting teaching, learning and research

About the Library

The Library is truly the heart of the Institute, supporting teaching and learning through a rich collection of reading and reference materials. It is well equipped with reference books, textbooks, back volumes, journals, periodicals, newspapers, and various other resources.

Located in the main building of the Institute, the Library follows the D.D.C. (Dewey Decimal Classification) system, and all books are systematically arranged according to this classification.

The Library features a spacious reading hall, a periodical section, a group discussion room, and an online database browsing area. It houses more than _____ books covering all major disciplines of Science, Engineering, and Technology.

At present, the Library subscribes to several nationally reputed journals and magazines in the field of Engineering. It also maintains a valuable collection of CDs and DVDs. All library operations are fully automated using the e-Granthalaya Library Management System.

The Library is a proud member of the Developing Library Network (DELNET), enabling access to a vast shared network of resources. All activities of the Library and Information Centre are computerized, including bar-coded ID cards and dedicated Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) terminals to check book availability at any time.

We are committed to continually enhancing our services, especially for users with special requirements, and strive to provide practical assistance to students with disabilities.

Digital Library

To supplement and enrich classroom learning, the Library plays an active and dynamic role by providing various knowledge-based information services. The facility is fully automated with both internet and intranet connectivity.

Adjacent to the main library building, a dedicated browsing section has been established with modern infrastructure to facilitate digital access.

The Digital Library Section provides access to online databases, e-journals, e-books, and various e-documents. All housekeeping operations are automated, ensuring smooth and efficient services.

With its growing collection of CDs, DVDs, audiovisual materials, and online academic resources, the Library is continually evolving to meet present and future challenges. It plays a pivotal role in the development, storage, and dissemination of engineering and technical information for students and faculty.

Online Resources

The Library is fully computerized and offers a browsing section for students to access a variety of online resources.

It is a member of the Developing Library Network (DELNET)—one of the largest digital library networks in South Asia. DELNET provides access to numerous online databases and is supported by the National Informatics Centre, the Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, and the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

DELNET’s primary objective is to promote resource sharing among libraries across the country, enabling users to access a wide range of academic and research materials.

The Library is also a member of the National Digital Library (NDL), an initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development under the National Mission on Education through ICT.

NDL provides a single-window search facility for a vast range of learning resources, including more than 7 lakh books, 3 lakh+ articles, and over 18,000 video lectures, supporting students in their academic and research pursuits.
